Mary Kom full name is ” Mangte chungneijang Mary Kom “ she was born in 24 November 1982 Sagang in the Churachandpur district of Manipur, India.

Her parents moved to the village of Kangathei to make ends meet, where she was raised.
Mary Kom father name is Mangte Tonpa Kom and Mother name is Mangte Akham Kom were farmers who worked in jhum field Mary Kom is considerate daughter she always helps in farming. ( *Jhum filed – it is a method of agriculture in this farmers are cut the present trees and other vegetations on a particular land and burned that for crop.)

Mary Kom is eldest children in her family,she has one younger brother & sister.
Mary Kom studied in St. Xavier Catholic school at 8th standard here she gain a good amount of interest in athletics specially in Javelin and Running .
She was inspired by a man ” Dingko Singh “
A man who returned from 1998 Bangkok Asian games with a gold medal many youngsters are inspired from him and try to do boxing , Mary Kom also thought about boxing .

Most of the Neighbours discourage the Mary Kom , boxing is for male only she would not be good in future but she avoided all the unnecessary advice and thoughts about what idea will be work for improve herself , After completion of 8th standard she moved to Imphal for higher education ,

Mary Kom participated in sports like volleyball, football and running for try to better herself she knowing that what have to take decision .
In 2000, she switch athletics to boxing it was a quite success of Dingko Singh who inspired her ,
She started a training under first coach k. kosana Meitei in Imphal .

Mary Kom father concerned that boxing would hurt the face of Kom and spoil her marriage chances , However , When Kom’s photo appeared in newspaper she won state boxing championship in 2000. After of this moment her father began to support her in boxing .

She married with K. Onker Kom in 2005. After two year she birth twin sons in 2007 . she birth third son in 2013 and she feeling lonely of girl child she adapted a daughter in 2018 her name is Merilyn.

Professional Life

Mary Kom started her career in the year 2000 by Triumphing The State Championship in Boxing. This is proudly moment for her father and he also began to support her daughter, After that she proceed to win a gold medal in seventh east India’s boxing championship which is held in West Bengal in 2001 .

“Mary Kom won her first international medal in 2001 at the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in the USA, where she won a silver medal.”

In 2002 , Mary Kom Maiden World tittle she was first Indian boxer who win gold at global meet .She won eight times Medal in World Amateur Boxing Championship 6 Gold Medal ,1 Silver & 1 Bronze. (2002,2005,2006,2008,2010,2018) in this year she won Gold Medal .

In 2008 , She participated in Asian Women’s Boxing Championship where she won a silver medal , the same year she won a gold medal in Amateur Boxing championship which held in China .this is her fourth successive gold medal at championship.

Next year she went to Vietnam where she returned with a Gold Medal at the 2009 from Asian Indoor Games. In 2010 , Mary Kom won the gold medal at Asian Women’s Boxing Championship at Kazakhstan, after this event she moved to Barbodas for register her fifth consecutive gold at AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championship.

In 2010 she competed in Asian games at 51 Kg category and won bronze medal . In Mongolia she participated in Asian Boxing Championship with same weight category ( 51 Kg ) and won the gold medal in 2012.

In 2012 Mary Kom become the first Indian female boxer who qualified the summer Olympics and won the bronze medal .

In Traning or Ring Mary Kom never compromise of Hardwork , dedication she passionate did her work , this things are perfect to make her role model  for youth .
