Personal Life

He was born in 12 August 1919 at Ahmedabad a Gujrati Family, His father name is Ambalal Sarabhai who is a major industrialists committed to in Indian independence Movement.

Vikram Sarabhai wife name is Mrinalini , She was a classic dancer .The coupled had two children.( Daughter & son) His daughter name is Mallika and son name is Kartikeya His daughter enhance in life as actress and activist. His son enhance in life by showing interest in Science.

Vikram Sarabhai Education he attend Gujrat college , Ahmedabad but later he moved to university of Cambridge , (England).Where he took his tripos in natural science by showing interest in 1940.Then 1945 he returned to Cambridge to pursue PhD and wrote a thesis ” cosmic ray investigation in tropical latitudes ” in 1947.

Professional Life

Dr. Vikram Ambalal Sarabhai founded ( PRL) physical research laboratory in Ahmedabad on 11 November 1947 . he served (PRL ) physical research laboratory 1966 to 1971.

After declaring death of Homi J. Bhabha in 1966 Vikram Sarabhai appointment as chairman of atomic energy commission of India. He along with other Ahmedabad based industrialists who played major role to creations of the Indian institution of management Ahmedabad .

Sarabhai Majorly responsible person for establishing and development for nuclear power Plant. He laid foundation for native development of nuclear technology of Defence purpose.

Sarabhai established Indian national committee for space research in 1962 which name was later renamed as ISRO ( Indian space research organization ) Dr. Vikram Ambalal Sarabhai Set up the Thumba equatorial rocket that launched in south India .

Death

Sarabhai died cardiac arrest at age 52 in Thiruvananthapuram ( Trivandrum) on 30 December 1971 , his body was cremated in Ahmedabad.
